Seven international startup companies have been chosen to participate in the world’s most ambitious accelerator program dedicated to sound tech. The program is developed by Sound Hub Denmark and Accelerace and has just been kicked off in Struer.
During the coming six months seven startups from seven different countries will work together with experts from Accelerace and Sound Hub Denmark in the newly developed sound tech accelerator to finetune, test, identify, and execute their business models. They will be able to draw on the knowledge of partners like Bang & Olufsen and Harman and have access to top of the line gear and labs in Sound Hub Denmark in Struer.
The seven companies were chosen among 30 applicants by a panel consisting of Tommy Andersen, co-founder of Libratone, Kim Rishøj, co-founder of TC Electronics, and representatives from Bang & Olufsen and Harman Lifestyle among others.
The seven startups are:
Distopik from Slovenia
Distopik is a hi-tech company aiming to create great sound and a better workflow with digital plugins for analog audio products. With Distopik’s technology, you can augment your potentiometers and switches and keep the analog sound while at the same time getting the benefits usually reserved for plugins.
Muuselabs from Belgium
Muuselabs has developed Jooki, a screen-free music and stories player for kids. Jooki lets kids enjoy music without ads and screens to engage their imagination and help them grow.
Specialwaves from Italy
Specialwaves makes modular controllers for DJ’s, producers, and musicians. The modular midi controller, Mine, consists of a case suitable for accommodating modules made of single electronic interfaces in order to offer the maximum flexibility in the creation of its configuration to fulfill the user’s needs.
Mapuguaguén from Germany and Chile
Mapuguaguén makes handmade speakers from clay combining the ancestral pottery tradition from Chile with modern wireless audio technology.
Steenssen from Denmark
Steensen makes soundbar speakers with 3D sound for homes and offices. The speakers come in three series, the Air Series, the Action Series, and the TT Series inspired by Danish design, nature, and architecture in Denmark.
Avatronics from Switzerland
Avatronics has developed the AVA Active Noise Cancellation Solution, a wide-band ANC capable of selectively canceling all unwanted noises without compromising the quality of music or speech.
Polsek from the Netherlands
Polsek is a single-founder company with a humoristic, naturalistic, and unique take on design making speakers from real coconuts. The spherical shape makes it stand out from traditional rectangular speakers, as well as greatly reducing internal resonance and external diffraction.]]>
