Accelerace and Sound Hub Denmark launch most ambitious sound cluster

The remodeling has begun after Sound Hub Denmark got the financing settled, 50 million Danish kroner to develop the future acoustic and sound startups. Accelerace is behind the tailored accelerator program providing the sound startups with great possibilities for scaling. With 50 million Danish kroner and a tailored accelerator program, Denmark’s most ambitious sound cluster is ready to scale the future’s best sound and acoustic startups from the whole world. The hub, which is located in Struer also known to Danes as the City of Sound, will house both scientists, entrepreneurs, and corporates and shine the light on a partly overlooked potential: “There is an untapped potential in Denmark when it comes to audio and acoustic. With companies like Bang & Olufsen and Libratone, we have proved that we can create international successes. But we believe, there is also a strong startup potential that is not being utilized sufficiently,” says Peter Torstensen, CEO in Accelerace.

Strong national and international partnerships

Accelerace is a partner in Sound Hub Denmark together with Aalborg Universitet, Danish Sound Network, Struer Kommune, Færchfonden, and the internationally acclaimed businesses Bang & Olufsen and Harman Lifestyle. The ambition is to create a global ecosystem with international partners where all competencies are gathered in one place. In collaboration with Sound Hub Denmark, Accelerace has created a tailored accelerator program that provides the startups with access to state of the art facilities, co-working, and maker spaces.

The first batch starts in September

Accelerace will leverage the existing expertise of the Danish sound and acoustics landscape by recruiting and matchmaking the most promising international startups with reputable audio corporates. The remodeling of the facilities has begun, and the first batch of startups will be entering the accelerator in September 2018.
