Salu Health

Your online doctor that follows you anywhere, anytime.

Active Next round Seed Estonia SaaSHealthtech

Salu are building an online medical platform, allowing you to gain access to medical care wherever you go.

Why are some service areas fully digitized, while others are not? How have areas like food delivery been able to make the transition into the digital realm, while other sectors like health services have not? Every country’s medical system is different, and thus it can be a big hassle for ex-pats to find a GP or other medical offers, when they move themselves and their family to a new country.

This is what Salu resolves with their online GP and medical consultations. And in cases where consultations can’t be done online and you need to see a doctor or a specialist, Salu has partnered with clinics in the respective country. These clinics will have access to your medical records and can perform tasks such as blood tests. In all other cases, though, you can open their app and consult with a doctor within 30 minutes, 7 days a week, no matter where you are at that moment.

Currently, Salu have launched in Estonia, Finland and Spain, but the service can be used anywhere.

Our investment thesis

Expats, a segment of 68M in the EU, have difficulty getting proper medical help in a new country, while (a) ca 90% of expats have experienced a language barrier while seeking medical help abroad (b) no knowledge on how the local healthcare system works and where to get help (c) no health records in the host country’s database making it difficult for a local doctor to provide personalized medical help (d) existing solutions have constraints limiting the access for expats to receive medical help. This segment is able and willing to pay for more convenient solutions that is available without waiting time and moves with them regardless of where they are geographically based, which enables efficient and personalised medical advice. Due to harmonised EU regulation, it is possible to deliver the online service (which solves up to 90% of cases) from lower-cost countries on a pan-European basis.
