Exo360

Plaster cast alternative for better patient recovery and efficient patient care.

Active Next round Seed Denmark Healthtech3D printing

Plaster casts have been used in the same way, since it’s inception almost 200 years ago. But now the technology is there to come up with a better solution: a cast that follows the limb and protects it from further damage.

Currently, there are a lot of re-fractures when treated with plaster cast. That is because, the cast is usually applied while the limb is swollen – but when the swelling goes down, the cast is no longer tight to the limb, and bones can thus break again. That requires expensive and painful surgery. But Exo360 have come up with the ExoCast: a 3D printed cast that follows the limb and always holds it in place, whether it is swollen or not, preventing re-injuries.

Our investment thesis

Regardless of where you are in the world, all doctors use the same type of cast. A cast works because it hardens and holds the bones together until they are healed. In theory that is. In reality, the arm is swollen when doctors apply the cast. But soon after the swelling disappears and the cast isn’t tight anymore. Often the injury reappears, and the patient is readmitted to the hospital. Exo360 has a strong value proposition for hospitals: Save man hours and money.
