The Upcycl

With 895 million tons of waste materials ending up in landfills every year, there is a clear problem that needs to be addressed. Instead of traditional recycling, which still costs a lot of waste, the team are basing their model on what is known as upcycling – a way to repurpose waste materials. They have created a platform for the exchange of leftover materials and are connecting people to limit the amount of waste and offer an overview of members’ residual materials that are ready to be considered and integrated into new or existing designs and solutions. They also monitor emissions and material savings for the benefit of members’ CSR, brand and the planet.
