AI detection and laser weeding for organic farms
Active Next round Seed Latvia HardwareAgtechSoftwareThe world is transitioning to pesticide-free, organic farming. But the most efficient way to kill the weeds that steal the crops’ nutrition is with pesticides. On organic farms farmers are forced to rely on manual weeding. Manual weeding is done by placing workers, face down, on a trailer to pull the weeds from the ground, by hand. It is hard and straining work that attracts fewer and fewer workers, whilst the need for them increases.
Weedbot have created a weeding machine that uses a camera and AI to detect weeds what are weeds and what are crops, and then kill the weeds with high precision lasers.

Farmers cannot get the farm workers they need, and our planet cannot endure the current use of pesticides. The amount of organic produce will increase and the amount of available labour for this type of work will decrease.
This solution solves the worker deficit and at the same time reduce the cost of weeding significantly for farmers, making organic produce cheaper.
